Many favorite tourist sites have their own websites, and several of the best travel guides publish web versions of their popular books. In addition, some countries publish their own information for travelers, which often includes information regarding the exchange rate, important contact information, weather details, and other vital travel trivia.   • Office of Study Abroad at Michigan State University - With more than 150 programs in nearly 52 countries, and an ever-growing variety of learning opportunities, the MSU study abroad program is one of the largest and most prestigious in the nation. Last year, more than 1,900 students took advantage of the program.
    This is a Michigan State University resource.
     
  • Lonely Planet Online - Lonely Planet has a reputation for producing well-researched, up-to-date information that travelers can depend on no matter where they're going. Check out the online version of the famous book series.
     
  • National Geographic - Visit the website version of the long-famous magazine for articles and general information about the rest of the world. Look through recent news and photographs or generate maps using the MapMachine feature.
     
  • Weather.com - Find out the weather before you travel. Weather.com features forecasts and current weather conditions from around the world, including up-to-date weather maps.
     
  • Festivals.com - If festivals are the collective celebrations of real world communities, then Festivals.com is the gathering place of the festival community online.
     
  • National Parks Worldwide - A comprehensive listing of parks throughout the world, including links to corresponding websites. Hosted by Polish National Parks.

  • Kasbah - The Travel Destination Directory - Links to web resources on a wide variety of topics, such as weather, currency, and breaking news. The "search by destination" function yields directories of travel guides, hotels, air transportation museums, culture, health, and others.
     
  • Geosource - Annotated links to more than 4000 websites. "Academic subjects" include thirteen different topics.
