Sudan is located in the northern part of the African continent, with its northeastern end on the coast of the Red Sea. It shares its western border with Chad, its northwestern border with Libya, its northern border with Egypt, its southeastern border with Ethiopia and Eritrea, its southern border with Kenya and Uganda, and its southwestern border with the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The capital city is Khartoum.
